Pricing FAQ

The fine print, in plain words.

What happens when I hit the 25-recipe Free cap?
Nothing breaks. You can keep cooking from your existing 25 recipes forever. To import new ones, you can either (a) delete recipes you don't use anymore, or (b) upgrade to Pro for unlimited imports. We never lock or hide recipes you've already saved.
Do I need a credit card during the beta?
No. The private beta is completely free — every feature, no card, no trial clock. When pricing goes live after public launch, beta testers will get plenty of notice and keep everything they've saved. No surprise charges, ever.
What if I'm on monthly and want to switch to annual?
Switch anytime. We prorate — your remaining monthly credit becomes a credit on the annual plan. You don't pay twice and you don't lose what you've already paid. Same goes for downgrading.
Can I share my Pro account with my spouse?
Pro is single-user. If you want to share your kitchen with another adult, the Household plan is built for it — at $7.49/mo annual, that's only $3 more than Pro and covers up to 6 members with their own dietary profiles, child profiles, and a real-time collaborative planner.
Do you offer student or educator discounts?
Yes — 50% off Pro and Household for verified students and educators. Email hello@foodgenie.app from your .edu address and we'll send you a discount code within a day.
Refund policy?
Annual plans get a 30-day refund window, no questions asked. If FoodGenie isn't earning its keep in the first month, we'll send your money back. Monthly plans don't have refunds — you can just cancel before the next charge. The beta, of course, is free.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Stripe Link. Annual plans also accept ACH (US) and SEPA (EU). All payments are processed by Stripe — we never see your card number.
Is there a referral program?
Yes. Refer a friend who upgrades to Pro and you both get 1 month free. Works for Household too. You can stack referrals — power users have rolled into 6+ months free this way.
