Store in a cool, dry pantry. Keep away from heat sources. Most aerosol sprays remain usable for 2–3 years if stored properly. Pump sprays may lose pressure over time.

Spray from 6–8 inches away in short bursts to avoid oversaturation and pooling.

Best used on room-temperature pans; spraying cold pans can cause the oil to slide off.

For baking, spray just before adding batter or dough to prevent oil from running.

Pump sprays (refillable) offer more control and are budget-friendly over time.

Spraying into a hot pan or oven; oil can ignite or spatter.

Using too much spray, which creates a slippery surface and uneven cooking.

Spraying the pan after food is already in it, which causes uneven coating.
