Store whole beans in an airtight container away from heat, light, and moisture for up to 3 weeks. Ground coffee loses flavor quickly; use within 1–2 weeks. Freezing can preserve beans longer but may introduce moisture; only freeze in airtight, vacuum-sealed bags if needed.
Cooking Tips
Grind beans just before brewing for maximum freshness and flavor.
Use filtered or bottled water if your tap water is heavily chlorinated or mineral-heavy.
Experiment with brew time and water temperature (typically 195–205°F / 90–96°C) to dial in your preferred strength.
Store coffee away from strong odors; it absorbs aromas easily.
A general ratio is 1 to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 oz (180 ml) of water, adjusted to taste.
Pairs With
Breakfast pastries and cakes (croissants, muffins, brownies)
Savory dishes: chili, BBQ rubs, pulled pork, beef stews
Chocolate desserts, tiramisu, coffee ice cream
Nuts and seeds
Common Mistakes
Using water that's too hot (above 210°F) or too cool (below 190°F), which over-extracts or under-extracts.
Storing coffee in the fridge or near windows where light and temperature fluctuations degrade flavor.
Grinding all beans at once instead of just before brewing.
Using stale water or tap water with off-flavors.
