Instant coffee absorbs moisture and odours easily. Avoid humid environments like the bathroom. Once opened, seal tightly to prevent clumping and flavour loss.
Keep in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Typically stays fresh for 6–12 months unopened, and several months after opening.
Cooking Tips
Use hot (not boiling) water for best flavour—around 90–95°C (194–203°F).
Stir well to ensure all granules dissolve completely.
Start with 1–2 teaspoons per 8 oz (240 ml) of water and adjust to taste.
Can be added to smoothies, baked goods, or desserts for a coffee kick.
Mixing with a small amount of cold water first creates a paste, which dissolves more smoothly into hot water.
Pairs With
Chocolate desserts (brownies, mousse, cakes)
Caramel sauces and glazes
Whipped cream and ice cream
Oatmeal and granola
Creamy liqueurs and cocktails
Common Mistakes
Using boiling water, which can make coffee taste bitter.
Not stirring thoroughly, leaving undissolved granules at the bottom.
Storing in damp areas, which causes clumping and flavour degradation.
Measuring by eye rather than weight or spoons, leading to inconsistent strength.
